there is nothing else like this
I could go on, originators and still ten steps ahead of the crowd. Bassweight that will be remembered.

"Why is the King of Hearts the only one that hasn't a moustache?" - James Branch Cabell
Just got back from working at Moustachio all over your Face, a collaboration between regular Saturday night hosts at the Rainbow, Face and a club brand I hadn't really heard of before now, Mustachio, working together to support Movember (a worthwhile cause, and nice branding, but I'm not really sold on the brand name itself).
It probably would have made more sense to post this before the actual night than after it has all happened, but the purpose of this post wasn't really to promote the night, but more to show you what I think is one of the cleverest poster concepts I have seen around Birmingham recently:

(For those unfamiliar to Face, the blue circle is their "logo")
I tried to find out who designed it but I didn't get a response, if anyone sees this and knows who it was done by, please let me know!

"Advice to intellectuals: let no-one represent you." - Theodor Adorno

I'm sure everyone is aware of the two less-than-sensitive protests which have taken place this week: the burning of poppies in Kensington, and the student demonstration-turned-riot at the Millibank Tower.

Whilst neither of these protests were conducted with any level of finesse, it is important for us all to remember that these groups of people do not represent their respective demographics accurately, and as such, they were acts of individuals rather than organisations.
The act of poppy burning was nonetheless disgusting. Armistice Day bears little relevance to the conflicts around the world today; it is a commemoration of the end of the First World War, and the two minute silence is a sign of respect for roughly 20 million people who died in the war.
As for the student protests, although they were conducted in entirely the wrong fashion, they had much stronger moral backing. If student fees are increased as much as the Conservatives propose, then it is going to be a bleak future for those of us who fit into the working class. It's just the start, the rich will look after the rich, and the rest of us will be left hung out to dry.

"It's hard for me to get used to these changing times. I can remember when the air was clean and sex was dirty." - George Burns

It's always nice when a good concept meets strong execution. This "billboard" on the U.S. - Canada border is just that. Made from stainless steel rods and comissioned by the American federal government, and created by Lead Pencil Studio, hopefully this is an indication that America are taking a step towards being more environmentally friendly.

“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” - Lao Tzu, Taoist Philosopher
So I thought I'd get with the times and start a blog. Let's face it, it's either this or Twitter, and I've got far too much wisdom to impart/too much pointless rubbish to spew to try and fit it all into 140 characters.
Expect music which I like, design/illustration/various visual media that I like and other interesting things.
